Coretax DJP: The New Face of Tax Administration—What Changed?

Since its launch, Coretax (the Core Tax Administration System) has become the new home for all tax matters in Indonesia. From 2026, the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) runs tax administration entirely through Coretax—from registration and payment to filing returns. What changed for you?

1. One portal for every service

Tax services used to be scattered across many apps (DJP Online, e-Faktur, e-Bupot). Now they’re unified in a single Coretax portal: creating tax documents, filing returns, managing your profile, and monitoring administrative status in real time.

2. Goodbye, EFIN

Coretax no longer uses EFIN to log in. Taxpayers must activate a new account via email verification, profile data updates, and account security setup. Many get stuck here—make sure your email and phone number are active and registered.

3. Partly pre-filled returns

The pre-populated feature records your income data and withholding slips from employers automatically into your return. The goal is to cut the manual input that has long been a headache. Even so, you must still review the data—automation doesn’t guarantee zero errors.

4. Deadlines still bind

A friendlier system doesn’t erase your obligations. Individual annual returns must still be filed through Coretax by the applicable deadline, and lateness still triggers sanctions under the KUP Law.
